Electric Buses on Public Transit --Testing in King County

I've always had an interest in environmental-related topics.

Public transit when it works efficiently is a more 'green' way of moving more people. Much more than single-occupant vehicles.

Very recently I was pleased to see that electric buses are being tested on King County Metro in the Seattle area.

The buses have a range of about 40 miles and they charge up their electric batteries for about 10 minutes while parked at their terminal point.

The Big Advantages to running electric buses? They're quieter and cleaner! I imagine that they also don't require the same amount of maintenance that gas/diesel engines require.

I met the two engineers Keyur Shah & Kevin Ertel who work with ProTerra, a company based in Greenville, SC which has been developing with technology. Eastgate Park and Ride is one of terminal locations for testing these new electric buses!
